THE SUITCASE THAT CHECKS ITSELF IN.
Most travel innovation happens at the airport. This one starts before you even leave.
The RIMOWA Electronic Tag transforms the suitcase into part of the check-in process—replacing the paper luggage label with a digital display synced directly from your phone. Instead of waiting in line, travelers check in both themselves and their luggage remotely. Flight data is transferred via app to the suitcase, turning it into a connected interface between traveler, airline, and system. The result is a simple but radical shift: The suitcase is no longer passive. It becomes part of the journey. What used to be a physical, fragmented process becomes seamless and continuous. From check-in to drop-off, friction disappears. This reframes product design entirely. From object to service. From hardware to experience. Because when the product starts acting, the system starts disappearing.
